Cookie Splash!

I love reading photographer blogs and Siebe Warmoeskerken of De Vetpan studios writes one of my favourites. About a year ago Siebe posted a series of photos called Cookie Splash and the concept was so inspiring I knew I just had to try it.

It’s a bit messy so I took my cup outside but if you could do this inside if you have a cloth handy! To get the shot all you need is the drink in a pretty cup, some cookies to decorate and a small heavy object to drop in the cup for the splash. I’d recommend putting your camera in continuous shot mode, turn up that ISO so you can get a fast shutter speed and switch your lens to manual to make sure the camera takes the shot without pausing to refocus.

I’d love to see other people’s Cookie Splash photos so please leave a link to your’s in the comment section.

So glad I found your blog and these tutorials from your gorg pix in MCP Actions. What a compliment to you to be featured there this week.
I think I might jump on board with the 52 week project. I love the thought of taking a photo a week with a “theme.”
Cheers from north of New York City in a small New England town
