Do you see those photos up there, the ones at the top of my website – they were taken this time last year when we were gathering the autumn apples. As long as the sun is shining I think Autumn is my favourite season, I just love the light and colours you get at this time of year. Russet leaves set against a blue sky, nothing better. It has been a bumper harvest at our little Orchard Cottage this year, plenty of apples and plums – enough even for us to share a few with the chickens!
We spent the weekend gathering the last of our autumn fruits and Theo spent the weekend climbing the apple trees and playing silly games whilst his Mum chased him around the garden with her camera.
Our little photo session started off well enough, Theo was ‘helpfully’ shaking the trees to get the apples down!
Then we had a little posing in front of the apple basket!

Got a nice shiny red apple, Theo decided this one was his and it wasn’t going in the basket.

And then my ‘assistant’ decided that it might be fun for Theo to try and balance an apple on his head…..
What a great idea, we had such fun and Mum got to practice her ninja fast shutter skills too!
Just look at those hands in pockets, that’s the sign of a boy confident in his apple balancing skills!
Now you are getting a glimpse of our love of apple trees it probably helps to explain my choice of logo a little more!
