It’s been a good year, Theo has come on in leaps and bounds this year and it’s in no small part due to the wonderful teacher he’s had. Please meet Miss Snookes

Inspired by an American tradition I learned about from my photographer friends, back in 2010 I purchased a copy of Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”. I’ve always been a bit of a fan of Dr Seuss (the fact his first name was Theo should give you a bit of a clue!) and this book is an inspiring story of life’s challenges and the importance of perseverance. The bit I’ve stolen from my American friends is the tradition of asking Theo’s teacher each year to choose a page and write a message in it for Theo to read when he graduates from school. Theo’s teacher at pre-school was the first to write in the book and this year we asked his Foundation Year teacher Miss Snookes to add a message. We’re keeping the book and the messages a secret and so when Theo is old enough to read this website I’m going to have to delete this blog post! But for now I think we are safe so I would like to share Miss Snookes message to Theo. This is the book;

Miss Snookes gave me the book back at our last parent-teacher meeting and talked about how’d she’d tried to choose an appropriate page, I just love the page she chose and the words she wrote;

Dear Theo “Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep for every dream precedes the goal.” R.Vaull Starr
I feel privileged to have known you at the beginning of your journey Theo. As you go forth be brave, be adventurous but above all be happy. Much love Miss Snookes (Caroline) – Apple Class, July 2012.

Thank you Miss Snookes for all the support, inspiration and guidance you’ve given Theo this year. We’ll miss you and wish you all the best with your new students. x
