September is always my favourite month of the year, it is my birthday month (and I do like to celebrate all month!), the weather in England is normally good and I try to fit in a trip away with my photographer girl friends. This year we went to Lisbon and I have just posted my Lisbon photos in this blog post A Weekend in Lisbon However this September the happiness I want to write about for our Happiness Through My Eyes blog circle stems from the fact one of my photos was chosen by UNESCO to feature as the backdrop to one of their award ceremony’s.
It was this photo, my Oil and Bubble macro photo where I was trying to create the feeling of planets floating in the universe.
I was very excited about my photo being used but as the Award ceremony of the UNESCO International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences was being held in Equatorial Guinea I didn’t expect to actually see my photo in use. You can imagine my surprise and delight when one of the staff at UNESCO took some photos of the ceremony and sent me a copy. Thank you UNESCO you made my month!
I do take photos mainly of my son Theo and my goal of documenting his childhood will continue to be the main focus of my photography it is fun however to branch out into different fields sometimes as there are so many different types of photography I want to try. Roll on retirement when I will have more time to explore all that photography has to offer!
Please continue on around the blog circle and visit my friend Jessica of Jessie’s Girl Photography who will be showing what Happiness means to her in the month of September.
